Dear all,
We, Affective Neuroscience and Psychophysiology department (ANaP lab), would like to invite you to a talk by Christina Stier (University Medical Center Göttingen) on Thursday, 8 September 2022 at 15:00.
In her talk, she will speak about “On M/EEG network alterations in genetic epilepsies and across the adult lifespan”. The session will be held in person at the GEMI (Institute of Psychology, Goßlerstraße 14, 37073) in seminar room 1.134.
Please feel free to forward this invitation to anyone that you think may be interested. If you would like to discuss your topic with Christina after the session, please send me an email beforehand.
We are looking forward to seeing you at our colloquium!
Best wishes,

Title: On M/EEG network alterations in genetic epilepsies and across the adult lifespan
Abstract: Oscillatory power and phase synchronization map neuronal dynamics and are widely studied for the description of the healthy or diseased brain. In my talk, I will provide insights into how we used these characteristics to investigate brain network alterations in patients with genetic generalized epilepsy in a multimodal setting. We employed combined analyses of MEG and EEG resting-state recordings and MRI-derived measures. To test for the genetic influence of network alterations, an endophenotype approach was adopted, in which also the healthy siblings of the patients were studied. Finally, how power and phase-based connectivity vary across the adult lifespan shall be discussed to advance knowledge of the biological meaning of these markers concerning normative lifespan trajectory and disease development.
